Fantastic Showgrounds

Nottingham County Show

Agricultural shows have always been the place for farmers to catch up with old friends and showcase livestock.

That has not changed at Nottinghamshire, with over 200 Livestock classes being held for beef, dairy, pig, sheep and goats and entries received from all over the country.

The equine community is not forgotten with, again, more than 200 classes and qualifiers to choose from in the schedule alongside show jumping competitions taking place in the prominent Newark Ring.

This will run on the 11th and 12th of May

The Showjumping Section will be planning some excellent jumping and exhibitors from all over Britain will be bringing their animals to put on a great show.

The show is run by a Council of 50 Members with the help of the Section Secretaries and other co-opted and honorary members.

The Society is proud to have as Patron of the Show, the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mr. Willie Tucker.

This 300-acre showground is picturesque located near Spondon, Derbyshire it is one of the best for local County shows it has something for everyone to see and do.

Competing at the showground is fantastic the parking is fabulous you don’t have to walk miles to get to the main shows rings, you can see most of the rings from one vantage point; all the staff were extremely helpful, when I was competing we had the scurry harness horses coming by my ring, we were told in advance of their arrival of the ring and the judges paused the show to allow them to pass which in turn kept all the horses calm and collected.

There are plenty of vans to get refreshments from which were a little walk away from the equine show rings and plenty of shops just in case you forget anything.

The show runs on the 23rd of June 2019
